Young Adults Ministry

HAPPINESS! That is what the world promises but only Christ can truly provide. Augustine wrote in his Confessions: “There is a delight which is given not to the wicked, but to those who worship you, for no reward save the joy that you yourself are to them. That is the authentic happy life, to set one’s joy on you, grounded in you and caused by you. That is the real thing, and there is no other. Those who think that the happy life is found elsewhere pursue another joy and not the true one.”

The aim of the young adults ministry is the aim of calling of Scripture, to proclaim Christ and present everyone mature in Christ (Colossians 1:28). Only in Christ is there fullness of joy (John 15:11) and true, abiding happiness (Matthew 5:3-11). Recognizing that the world seeks to displace pure delight in the eternal Word with the fleeting pleasures of worldliness, Hebrews 10:24-25 is a central focus of each gathering. "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Delighting in God’s glory will find its culmination in the Day when Christ gathers His Church. Until then and to that end, the young adults gather on a regular basis to encourage each other "lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith…” (Hebrews 12:1-2).
